# How much better should the photos be?
Not much. That’s right: You should probably take the time to take at least one better photo of each subject than you can with your original. Many images are made in the field — other people’s exposures don’t go as well as yours. Also, some images can be too brightly lit and some too dark. Just remember to let go of unnecessary details.
## Creating a New Document
Your new document should already be selected before you continue with the next steps. To create a new image file, or to open one you’ve just created, choose File⇒New.
When the New Document dialog box appears, shown in Figure 9-1, you can easily choose a file format and location. Use the options provided to customize the image, with options that include the following:
* **Filename:** This option is self-explanatory. The default for Photoshop is to let you rename the file as you work.
* **Format:** You can choose from several formats — JPG, TIFF, and PSD, with PSD being the most popular. Your default format is determined by your Internet connection and the file name extension. If you’re working locally, Photoshop uses the default format, whether it’s JPG or TIFF.
* **Open location:** In the Open dialog box, choose the folder where you want to save the new file. (I cover saving in Chapter 7.)
* **Retain original:** This option makes sure that the original image isn’t lost when you create a new document. Select this option if you want to keep all image data, such as colors, shades, and tonal values, instead of losing these data to the new document.
* **Image type:** You can choose from several options that display the file format for each option. Choose RGB (24-bit) if you want to preserve 24 bits of color information when creating the file. Choose CMYK (32-bit) if you want to preserve color information without losing information. You can also choose Grayscale (1-bit) to create a monochromatic image.

Patients were randomly assigned to oral silodosin group (n = 115) or placebo group (n = 114) in a 1:1 ratio. Patients received 4 mg/day of silodosin or placebo for 12 weeks. The International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS), the lower urinary tract symptoms/QOL questionnaire-BPH quality of life (IPSS-QOL), the IPSS voiding symptom subscore, the IPSS storage symptom subscore, and the QOL score were assessed at baseline, 4, 8, and 12 weeks after the start of treatment. Of the total 126 patients, 117 patients were eligible for per-protocol analysis. The mean duration of treatment was 12.1 ± 0.8 weeks. A significant improvement was achieved in the silodosin group at week 4 and week 8 compared with baseline in the IPSS total, QOL, IPSS storage subscore, and QOL score. At week 12, the silodosin group showed significant improvements in the IPSS total and storage symptom subscores and the QOL score compared with the placebo group. Silodosin treatment was more effective than placebo in improving storage symptoms and QOL in patients with LUTS/BPH.
