Show My Files is a handy utility, designed to help you see all hidden folders in your computer. It lets you easily see hidden folders, such as folders that have their name changed and on your USB drive.
With a few hundred images I have stored on Flickr accounts, it was not a pleasant task to check them all to avoid overloading my memory and files. I created a command line tool for this. You can list the images or whole directories (you can change this value for a specific parameter), or view them all with the size in megabytes. For each image, the info provided are the date, original title, the list of dimensions, and the url to the pic.
You can try it out on your own server, with the following command:

Paste your own URL to see what the script does. I have added a new –Size parameter that can be used to show the total size of the items. This can be helpful to know how much info you got for the whole list of images, in megabytes. The output looks like this:

It is especially useful to view the results using the –Size parameter. Without it, the output is too big to fit on one page.
In the above screenshot, I have gathered all the images that have been linked from this site. The script does not take the robots.txt file into account, so if any images are marked as prohibited, it will still bring them up.
Step 2: Definition of parameters
The –Path or –Dir parameter is used to get all images or specific directories. You can see the types of parameters in the above screenshot. The value is either a string that is used for the filter or an object that is used to identify the type of item to be shown in the results.
The –Size parameter can be used to show the total size of the items that are shown. This is done by counting the number of lines of image description that are returned, and multiplying it by 1,048,576.
The –Type parameter is used to display only pictures or files. It can be used with –Dir, to display only directories, and with –Pic, to display only images.

Is a TrueCrypt container on an LVM system secured or not?
I have a TrueCrypt container on a LVM system, and all of my data is encrypted.
I’ve heard that LVM doesn’t encrypt data on the disk itself. Is it secure to store such sensitive data (TrueCrypt container) on an encrypted disk on an encrypted LVM volume?
A:
If the entire data on your machine is encrypted and not in a TrueCrypt container, you have a full disk encryption solution. This is not the same as a standard partition that is encrypted but you can’t access the data it is wrapped in. In this case, everything that is on your hard drive is encrypted. Note that if you try to mount a data partition on an encrypted system, the OS will give an error and the data will not be mounted.
For a live USB drive (truecrypt container), you’re not really looking for full disk encryption. You are still using LVM, so encryption of the data isn’t really a factor. The goal is to have a single encrypted device that is easy to use and manage. In the case of a live CD or DVD, the performance hit of full disk encryption is not a concern. In fact, the performance hit from working with encryption on a live OS is lower than the performance hit of not working with it on a system that is not booted. I would suggest that the solution for this is to use a live CD or DVD which encrypts the entire disk but that is your decision.
